i'm singing now so shut up: music

Leda

(Morrigan)
Inspired by William Butler Yeats'
poem
"Leda and the Swan"

A sudden blow: the great wings beating still
Above the staggering girl, her thighs caressed
By the dark webs, her nape caught in his bill
He holds her helpless breast upon his breast

How can these terrified vague fingers push
The feathered glory from her loosening thighs?
And how can body, laid in that white rush,
But feel the strange heart beating where it lies?

A shudder in the loins engenders there
The broken wall, the burning roof and tower
And Agamemnon dead.
Being so caught up,
So mastered by the brute blood of the air,
Did she put on his knowledge with his power
Before the indifferent beak could let her drop?
No, you can't just lie here Leda
scream, o god make some sound
push against what's happening Leda
your mind can't reach around it

and of course you know, Leda, people will lie
but not to you, Leda, you think deep inside
o the pain, Leda, that flew down from the sky - o Leda

It turns, it turns, Leda
the ground has lost your feet
has it really happened, Leda
the dreams - how will you sleep

and of course you know, Leda, people will lie
but not to you, Leda, you think deep inside
o the pain, Leda, that flew down from the sky - o Leda

can you survive Leda
can you warm yourself at night?
still so young Leda
but so much more tired

and now you're sure, Leda, people will lie
and it makes you less, Leda, do you think - do you mind
o the pain, Leda, that you hold deep inside - o Leda
